How to choose a Physiotherapist.
Physiotherapist red flags:
Wastes 15 min of your session on a bike/ultrasound/stim/heat
You lie on the treatment bed the entire session
Treatment is aimed at your symptoms and not the cause
Provides the same treatment week after week, month after month, with no discussion about options when progress has stalled
Gives you the same generic exercises they give everyone
Has you do the same exercises forever
Disappears and has you work with an assistant
Treat many clients a day and sometimes multiple at a time
You get a different Physiotherapist each visit
Things to look for in a Physiotherapist:
One-on-one care every time
Listens and addresses your concerns, fears, goals
Aims treatment at the true source of your symptoms
Provides a personalized exercise program that is continuously reassessed and progressed
Emphasizes active rehab to truly help you achieve lasting results
Takes the time to educate you and answer your questions and concerns
Promotes self-efficacy and movement while understanding your needs and lifestyle
