How to fix chronic neck pain.
I recently met a new client with years of mild neck pain. He’s tried every kind of treatment and just figured he had to live with it.
Here’s the homework I gave him:
More quality sleep
More whole foods
More water
More general exercise
More variety in postures and movements
More addressing of stress
Necks are stubborn and a magnet for stress and inactivity. Trust me whe I say that the usual treatments and devices will not fix chronic neck pain (acute pain is a different story).
My approach is to stop directing all the focus on the symptomatic area and instead redirect attention to your overall physical and mental well being. Focus on your foundation first!
Fun fact: I will tell you to go for walks if you have neck pain!
