I have a new pain, should I worry?
Aside from a traumatic episode (ie a fall) with significant pain, most times you don’t need to panic, especially if the answer is “yes” to the following:
Do you have most of your range of motion
Can you still do most day to day activities
Do you have normal sensation and temperature
Has your pain improved at all
Do you have pain-free moments
Are you able to walk
But when in doubt - see a Physiotherapist first. We screen for many many conditions and can help you decide whether you need to see a doctor or get imaging (very often these aren’t necessary nor would it change your treatment plan).
You don’t need a referral to see us, and we can often get you in quickly. So don’t wait around, come see me!
