Can I still strength train if I have pain?

 

100! There are many ways to continue exercising, rather than completely resting. 

Key points:

  • Mild discomfort is acceptable

  • Focus on comfortable positions and ranges

  • Lower the weight or resistance

  • Decrease the distance/time/overall volume

  • Monitor for persistent pain during and after exercising

It’s totally ok to still move and load while recovering!
