Why I don’t do adjustments anymore.
I spent a long time learning how to do them but now I rarely do them anymore.
Here’s why:
The effects are usually very short-lived (instructors would tell us to just wait a few minutes and we would be able to get the POP again)
Your spine isn’t out of alignment anyway
They’re not as specific as we think
This treatment isn’t any more effective than others like mobilizations and exercise (which in my experience is far more tolerable and thus people are more open to)
#1: I don’t want clients to become dependent on me for this kind of short-lived relief
Yes, joints can get stiff. Can an adjustment help? Yes - briefly.
But I’d rather focus on figuring out WHY it’s stiff and how we can improve it LONG TERM.
I don’t want you to come to me every week for a bit of relief, that’s not a good use of your time and resources. I want to show you how to help yourself! (I told you my business model wasn’t ideal)
With some patience, effort, and motivation, you can truly feel better and for good (and save those visits for when you truly need them).
