Why you can’t just rest it.
There are very few cases that I can think of where total rest is needed. If it is, it’s VERY brief.
Even after surgery, we get you moving in one way or another right away.
Because while you may be giving the affected area a chance to settle down and heal, you also risk needlessly losing strength, range of motion, and endurance (and not just in the affected region, but allover!), creating a host of other issues.
I prefer to promote “active rest” - you dial back on your activities but you don’t stop everything. You can still move safely while recovering. Continue to do what feels good and we can troubleshoot what doesn’t.
Go see your Physiotherapist for a full assessment and proper guidance!
(Also, a hint that rest probably isn’t justified is if you aren’t feeling better for it)
